About Christopher Gladwin:
Christopher Gladwin is an experimental musician and noise maker from the Lincolnshire Wolds. The spawn of early computer games, 80's video nasties and his parent's Prog Rock collection, he began making electronic music from his bedroom studio in the late 90's. He went on to study at the Hull School of Art & Design and became involved with the city's vibrant underground of avant-garde musicians and artists. Chris is mainly known for his electronica output under the name of Team Doyobi whose discography features labels such as Skam , Staalpaat and Fatcat records. Alongside this project he also works under a number of aliases ( The Wyrding Module, Dr Derek F. Livet Er Smerte ) and when the opportunity arises will get involved in improvised performances with whoever and whatever (one gig he played an amplified bowl for couscous). His creations can embrace pop musicality or the absurdist noise of his more outr é sonic research . He has recorded the screams of frogs, performed 340 songs in one set and been the man behind Hull 's only electro-psych-folk night, Auto.Barn . Highlights of his activities so far have included touring with Autechre , supporting Lighting Bolt , playing with Damo Suzuki and making to Oslo and back in a jeep with no headlights, towing a Kebab machine during the Safe as Milk festival. Christopher's current “para-musical” project explores the of aesthetics abject noise, produced electro-acoustically using crude self made devices and found objects (Harry Partch meets Wolf Eyes at a Fluxus happening).
